Luxury Sew-In Maintenance routine

Luxury Sew-In Maintenance Routine

Keep your install looking fresh, seamless, and healthy with proper at-home maintenance. Consistent care helps protect your natural hair, maintain scalp health, and extend the life of your luxury install.

Recommended Longevity:
Maximum wear for your sew-in install is 2½ months. Exceeding this timeframe may lead to matting, excessive shedding and difficulty during removal.

1. Routine Cleansing

Clean hair and scalp are essential for healthy extensions and natural hair maintenance. Shampoo routinely to prevent buildup, odor, dryness, and irritation.

Recommended Care:

  • Shampoo every 1–2 weeks

  • Focus on cleansing the scalp thoroughly

  • Use sulfate-free, moisturizing products

  • Follow with a lightweight conditioner

  • Avoid heavy oils and excessive product buildup

    2. Proper Drying Is Mandatory

Never allow your braids or foundation underneath the install to remain damp. Incomplete drying can lead to odor, mildew, scalp irritation, and matting.

    Recommended Care:

  • Fully dry the foundation and tracks after every shampoo

  • Use a hooded dryer or blow dryer with indirect heat

  • Pay special attention to the nape and braided areas

Avoid air drying for extended periods

3. Daily Detangling Routine

Proper detangling prevents matting, shedding, and tangling while maintaining the longevity of your luxury hair extensions.

Straight & Wavy Textures

  • Detangle daily using a paddle brush or wide-tooth comb

  • Start from the ends and work upward

  • Apply lightweight serum if needed

Curly Textures

  • Detangle every 2–3 days

  • Use a wide-tooth comb or fingers

  • Lightly mist hair with water or leave-in conditioner before detangling

    4. Nighttime Protection

Protecting your install at night helps maintain smoothness, reduce tangling, and preserve your style between appointments.

    Night Routine:

  • Wrap hair nightly using a silk or satin scarf

  • Alternatively, place hair into loose pin curls

  • Sleep on a satin pillowcase for added protection

Never sleep with wet hair

5. Maintenance Appointments

Routine maintenance appointments are highly recommended to maintain the integrity of both your natural hair and extension install.

Maintenance Includes:

  • Tightening loose areas

  • Scalp cleansing

  • Hydration treatments

  • Style refresh

  • Health assessment of natural hair

Do not exceed 2½ months of wear.
